Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th July – Imagine – Public event in the gallery
Members of the public, including a large group of Malaysian families who live in Manchester, joined in the family workshop. The workshops were facilitated by participants from the three women’s groups who worked on the In Translation project, CMWN, Europia, and Wai Yin. During the afternoon, Ruth Edson, Community development Manager at the Gallery, initiated discussions on the theme of migration in the Gallery. The main features on both days took the form of drawing workshops with artist Chiz Turnross.

I took part in the Imagination event on Saturday. What a privilege. The large group of Malaysian families who turned up were such a pleasure to be with. The children clearly enjoyed the drawing and collage workshop, producing wonderful, lively and free images and showing curiosity when joining in with the gallery discussion about the differences between the colonialist period and the UK today. Other families who came were of diverse nationalities and cultures and all visibly enjoyed the experience.
Thank you Ruth and Chiz and Manchester Art Gallery for bringing the exhibition to life and giving such an enjoyable and educational experience.

this art gallery is a good visit, although it can get very boring going around, the interactive features that it has make up for it. over all i would give a 4/10. i would come back but only to the interactive galleries

The interactive part of the museum is very good because you can experince, to improve you can havemore dressing up clothes, and you should be able to draw on those big white boards at the side of the traingle mirrors thing.
